  • Rachel McAdams, Olivia Wilde, Elizabeth Banks, Blake Lively, Rooney Mara, Kirsten Dunst and Andrea Riseborough were considered for the lead female role that went to Jennifer Lawrence.
  • David O. Russell has said in interviews that one of the main reasons why he casted Bradley Cooper was that, seen his work, he noticed that sometimes Cooper looked really angry and trying to suppress it, something he needed for the character of Pat.
  • This is the first film, other than a Rush Hour (1998) movie, that Chris Tucker has been in since Jackie Brown (1997) in 1997. Both films feature Robert De Niro. Anne Hathaway was originally cast opposite Bradley Cooper, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.
